Greetings,
As the CEO of the DBI Group I would like to personally welcome you to our website. Over the next coming weeks there will be more information added to the site. For now we would like to outline some key principles governing our overall mission as a surgical, biomedical engineering, and humanitarian group. We are dedicated to using cutting-edge technology and robust access to information to improve the world, one person and one technologic device at a time. Lofty goal? Perhaps, but as we say in the engineering world, every great structure or system began as a single thought.
As for myself. I am a bit of a Renaissance man. I hold degrees in Cellular and Molecular Biology, Chemistry, African-American literary history, Medicine, and Biomedical Engineering. I have a a strong interest in art and art history and a passion for writing in both the scientific and nonscientific arenas. I am blessed to be engaged in what I consider a "life-long" training as a solid organ (kidney, liver, pancreas) abdominal transplant surgeon. finally, I am dedicated to the cause of mentorship because this was crucial to my own success and remains the greatest avenue for my self improvement.
This site is a living, breathing document that I hope grows as the many contributions of others in the DBI group are added. The metric of our success will ultimately depend on you. We encourage you to drop us a note and let us know how we can become a resource to the scientific, educational, literary, artistic, and humanitarian communities. So come on in and stop by our House of Poetry or visit the intellectual world of Transplant surgery. Thank you and we will see you back in our cyber workshop really soon.
Humbly,
Kristian L. Brown, M.D., Ph.D.
